Which is better - steak or cheese? Well, each one can be the better choice in different scenarios. The chart below shows the total damage output of a pet with steak and cheese based on their attack stats.

When you reach the threshold of 20 attack, cheese is clearly better than steak and vice versa steak is better than cheese the lower your attack stat is. Note that since cheese is multiplicative it can be used to generate even higher damage hits by comboing it with pets such as the dodo or stegosaurus which boost attack, whereas steak will always deliver a flat 20 extra damage. Conversely, if your pet is targeted with strategies that reduce its attack, such as hyena or goose, then having cheese will compound that whereas steak will be unaffected.
